GUIDE FOR NEW MEMBERS.
Navigating Club Routes.
• Click on the member invite link provided in the FSR email for club approval.
• Create a free Starter account and sign in with your e-mail address and password.
• Download and install the free Ride with GPS mobile app for iPhone or Android.
• Sign in to the app and tap our FSR club icon on the homepage, or by tapping More in the lower right and then tap Club.
• Select Events (only available to members registered for an event) from FSR-PCA
club’s mobile page and choose that day’s route. The routes will not show up until right before the event, likely the night before.
• To start navigation click the NAVIGATE button in the lower left of the route preview.
The app may take a moment to lock-on to your position. Once it is locked, your position will show on the map as a blue dot,
and you will begin navigation.
• If your location option is not turned on, it will prompt you to turn this feature on first.
• Starting your ride somewhere other than the beginning of the planned route? When previewing your route, tap the three-
dot icon in the upper right corner, and choose Navigate to Start from the menu.
• Missed a turn? If you stray off course, you'll hear an alert from the app and see an Off Course notification. Tap the reroute
notification to be sent back to the closest point along your route.
• You can replay missed cues by tapping the replay icon in the right corner of the notification banner.
• Tap Cue sheet from the bottom menu bar to view the cue sheet for the route.
• Tap the Pause at the bottom during rest stops. Press and hold Pause to End the route.
• Next tap Finish to see the save screen where you can save or delete your trip.
• Post Event: Log out and turn off your phone location to avoid tracking if desired.
Advanced Settings: For iOS: Tools> Settings For Android: More> Settings
• Handlebar Mode: This handy feature allows the app to keep the screen on while navigating. It also allows you to lock the
navigation view in your preferred orientation.
• Bluetooth: Turn on to connect to a headset or PCM. Consult your car manual.
Settings>Navigation: to adjust the following advanced options:
• Advance Cue warnings: Announces next cue after completion. After a completed turn, if your next cue is some distance
away the app will say “Turn left in a quarter mile.”
• Nearing cue warnings: Announces cue when approaching. As you approach a turn, the app will chime in around 10-12
seconds before the cue depending on how fast you are driving.
• Imminent cue warnings: Provides hints for the next cue when it is very close to the current cue. Example: “In a quarter mile,
turn left, then turn right."
• Visual Alerts: Shows cues over the map. This option will show the cue description in a box just over the map to see all the
route details.
• Audio Alerts: Emits beeps to announce cues. You may choose to turn this option off to eliminate all chimes indicating cues
and warnings. We recommend keeping it ON.
• Spoken Alerts: Speaks directions from the cue sheet. The app will use the phone’s text-to-speech engine to read the
custom cues aloud. Disable this option to turn off the voice cues. The feature is best left ON.
• Off-course alerts: Plays warning tone when off/on route. When you go off-course, the app will continue to chime at you
every two minutes as a reminder that you are off course. Tap the X in the corner of the off-course notification to turn off this
reminder.
There is an option to download routes for offline use if cell reception drops. We recommend if you feel you need this, to wait until the day of the event to ensure you have the latest edition of the route. The steps to download routes:
• Choose the Events tab in the app.
• Choose the event for that day to open that event. Some event days will have multiple drives.
• Under Event Routes look for the route, there could be more than one route for that event(usually just one).
• Look on the right side of the screen for the three small orange dots and touch them for a drop down menu.
• Choose "Download for offline". Make sure to keep the screen on and the app open while downloading.
•To navigate a downloaded route simply Navigate the route from the events folder like you normally would. If you drop cell reception the downloaded route info will keep it running in the background automatically.
DRIVE SAFE, keep your eyes on the road.
